Bailey and Tyler’s wedding at Royal Ridge Barn in Hot Springs, Arkansas was one of those days.
Maybe it’s because I photographed Bailey’s boudoir session, then her bridal portraits, and finally her wedding day. Over the months, our conversations shifted from wedding planning and posing to life updates, excitement, and all the little moments leading up to this day. By the time June arrived, it honestly felt bittersweet knowing this chapter was coming to a close. When you spend months documenting someone’s story, it’s hard not to become invested in it.
Their June wedding was everything an Arkansas summer wedding promises to be—hot, sunny, bright, and full of color.
The Arkansas heat was relentless, but you’d never know it from the smiles on everyone’s faces. Pastel florals popped against the blue skies, the sunlight poured across the ceremony deck overlooking the Ouachita Mountains, and every part of the day felt alive. From the groomsmen waiting together before the ceremony to Bailey’s quiet moments getting ready, there was excitement in every corner.
Because I’d already photographed Bailey’s boudoir session and bridals, wedding day felt less like meeting up with a client and more like catching up with someone I’d genuinely gotten to know. Watching her step into her dress after seeing every season leading up to this moment was incredibly special.
Their ceremony overlooking the mountains was heartfelt and emotional, followed by one of the most energetic receptions I’ve photographed in a long time.
This crowd knew how to celebrate.
The dance floor stayed packed, everyone fully embraced the moment, and the pink heart backdrop quickly became one of the night’s biggest attractions. Between the laughter, happy tears, and nonstop dancing, the reception was the perfect reflection of Bailey and Tyler—joyful, sentimental, and completely surrounded by people who love them.
As much fun as the party was, what I’ll remember most are the quieter moments. The excitement before walking down the aisle. Tyler’s face every time Bailey looked his way. Family helping with final touches. Those little in-between moments that often become the memories people treasure most years later.
Delivering this gallery felt a little different. After photographing Bailey’s boudoir, bridals, and wedding, saying “that’s a wrap” was genuinely bittersweet. It’s one of my favorite parts of this job—getting to know incredible people through one of the biggest seasons of their lives—and one of the hardest parts when that season comes to an end.
